Benefits of Surah Qasas

Qasas means to relate events in their proper sequence this word can be a suitable title for this Surah for in it the detailed story of the Prophet Moses has been related. This is the fourteenth Surah of the Qur’an which begins with ‘the abbreviated letter’, and the form Ta. Sin. Mim., in particular, is for the third and the last time that has been mentioned in the Qur’an.

Surahs Ash-Shu`araa’, An-Naml and Al- Qasas were sent down one after the other. The language, the style and the theme also show that the period of the revelation of these three Surahs is nearly the same. Different parts of the Prophet Moses story as mentioned in these surahs together make up a complete story.

The main theme of this Surah is that Allah provides the means and motives of whatever He wills to do, in imperceptible ways. Thus, Allah so arranged things that the child through whom Pharaoh had to be removed from power, was bred and brought up in his own house, and he could not know whom he was fostering. Who can then fight God and frustrate Him by his machinations.

“The one who recites Surah Al-Qasas will be given ten rewards as many as the number of all those who assented Moses and those who rejected him, and there is no angel in the heavens and the earth but he will attest to his rightfulness in Hereafter”.

“The one who recites suras Al-Qasas, An-Naml, and Ash-Shu‘ara by the night before Friday, he will be of the friends of Allah, will be nigh to Him, and will be supported by Him; and in this world he will not encounter a sever poverty, insecurity and disquiet, and in Hereafter Allah will bestow on him so much merits that he will be pleased and even more than being pleased.”

Recite this Surah when soaked in rainwater and drunk may cure Stomach and Liver pains. Soak the Suran in water, drink and help dispel all. Your doubts and misgivings, sorrows and grief.
